cutter

cutter is a program to cut videos with. It reads in some recorded or computed file and used the avifile library (especially the DivX :-) codec to compress the video.

Status

cutter is only a small project and was intended to use only internal. But the program may be useful for other. So we decided to distribute the binary. (The source is not and will never be distributed, because it is deep inside our development tree.)

cutter was only tested with Redhat 7.0/7.1 and may not run under other distributions.

Requirements

To run cutter some kind of modern i386 Linux distribution (like Redhat 7.0/7.1) is required. You need also the following

Important Note

To get the audio-multi-track working, you will need the avifile library from CVS, configured with --enable-lame-bin and the CVS version of lame-lib. The avifile rpm in the binary directory will not work for more than one audio track. (We do not distibute one rpm packge of lame-lib, because it cores often, so we had to compile it in debug mode to get it work and don't want to distribute a package compiled in debug mode.)

  1. avifile library This can be found at http://divx.euro.ru. A RPM package can be found in our RPM download area.
  2. SDL As of version 0.5.1 the SDL-library coming with the distribution is used.

Download

The latest version is 0.5.1 (09. August 2001).
